The Functional Medicine Approach
The functional medicine approach to wellness looks at the whole person. Imbalances (too much of one thing, not enough of another) and upstream causes (i.e. environmental toxins, sensitivities, infections, nutritional deficiencies) are identified after exploring such factors as lifestyle, diet, health history, symptoms, and lab results. The interconnectedness of these factors (THIS is causing THAT) is mapped out and a custom plan is then created to form a path to healing.
